I began writing my first story in 2008. I was probably like all new writers, intent on completing my manuscript with no thought of the techniques, subtle nuances needed or the next steps. I certainly didn’t give any thought about publication. When I did, I struggled to find information about how to achieve it.

After getting my fingers burnt by a nefarious vanity publisher I spent a number of years learning my trade (I’m still doing that) as a member of different writing groups, attending writing courses, picking the bones out of literary websites and dealing with people purporting to help me.

I first became aware of Jericho Writers (or The Writers Workshop as it was then) sometime before 2017, stumbling across their website. I can’t be positive of the actual date but the information I got seemed genuine. I kept returning to the well and couldn’t find any catch. I signed up to receive regular emails in April of 2017.

Since that time I’ve attended webinars (very useful as I live in New Zealand), and received online videos and other helpful information from Harry Bingham. With the sister company, Agent Finder, I think Jericho Writers offer the complete package.

Although writing is a solitary affair, we all need support. I’ve been considering membership of Jericho Writers for some time.

Now I’m prepared to take that next step.
